PCFC felicitate indoor games prize winners

DUBAI - Ports Customs and Freezone Corporation Social and Sports Club felicitated the winners of their summer indoor games during a ceremony held at their Recreation Club in Jebel Ali on Tuesday.

"We consider all the free zone companies as one big family," said Saeed J. K Alqaizi, senior manager purchasing and contract depart of Ports, Customs and FreeZone Corporation. "Winning is part of competitions and those who have not won this year can always strive to do better and win next year.

"We hope to make this event an annual affair", Alqaizi, who is also a member of the club, told the gathering. The indoor games, which began on June 13, ended on July 3, with 180 participants who competed in different disciplines. The games were open to all employees of the free zone companies and the staff of Ports Customs FreeZone Companies.

The events held included table tennis--singles and doubles, carom --singles and doubles, badminton --singles and doubles, chess, snooker and billiards.

"We want to develop a system and improve next year," said Ahmed Al Qasimi, assistant manager, recruitment, Human Resources Department. "We will be happy to receive suggestions, said Qasimi, who competed in the billiards competition.

Shaikh Rafiq, sports co-ordinator of PCFC Sports and Social Club, expressed the hope that the event would attract more entries next year.
