Islamic New  Year holiday  on Thursday

All government departments, federal institutions and private sector companies in the UAE will remain closed on Thursday, October 15, on the occasion of the new Hijri year 1437.
The announcements in this regard were made on Sunday by Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources; and Saqr bin Ghobash Saeed Ghobash, Minister of Labour. The new Hijri year may begin on Wednesday, October 14, but the holiday has been shifted to Thursday, October 15.
