A major multi-vehicle accident resulted in congestion and tailbacks on the Abu Dhabi-bound Sheikh Zayed Road on Monday morning.
The 5-vehicle crash involving two mini buses and three cars caused chaos for motorists during this morning's rush hour, according to a Khaleej Times reader.
No injuries were reported as yet. Motorists are advised to seek an alternative route to avoid the traffic jam.
According to Dubai Police, Shaikh Zayed Road witnessed traffic snarls after an accident happened near Al Manara Bridge, towards Abu Dhabi.

Another accident occurred on Sheikh Zayed Road around Al Safa Road, which led to slow-moving traffic towards Abu Dhabi.


Backlog was reported on the Ras Al Khor Road at the intersection with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road.

A heavy traffic was also reported on a couple of Dubai-bound roads from Sharjah this morning.
Slow moving traffic was observed on Sheikh Zayed Road's E11 - from Al Nahda street, according to Google Maps data.

Delays were also expected on Al Wahda Street.
